The post-subsidy world for renewable energy, Renewables 2.0, calls for wide-ranging ramifications in technology development and adoption.

The proportion of solar and wind have to increase in our energy mix. Infirm renewable generation will have to be balanced with energy storage and demand response initiatives. Electric vehicles will demand accommodation in the electricity grid. Transportation will be smarter addressing congestion and last-mile connectivity issues. The grid will transform into clusters of smarter micro-grids to become more resilient.

Consumers will be more aware and informed, and will participate in dynamic electricity markets. Electricity distribution will be more socialized, and existing business models of utilities will change. Policies and regulations will have to keep up.

At Kanoda, we are constantly exploring new technologies and methods, undertaking pilots, and developing benchmarks for a seamless transition to a renewable-dominant future.
